Enjoy your afternoon by walking through the oldest college art museum in America.  Representing art from around the world with 200,000 pieces of art, ranging from ancient times to the present day.  

No matter what age, you'll always have fun learning about history at the Peabody Museum located on Whitney Ave. Once you're done learning about dinosaur bones and ancient artifacts, head over to 121 Wall St and you'll find the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.  This is one of the world's largest libraries with 6 levels devoted entirely to rare books and manuscripts, including the Frederick R. Trails and Beaches

FIVE MILE POINT LIGHTHOUSE/ EAST ROCK

Hike 427 acres of open trails throughout East Rock to reveal captivating views spanning over New Haven. Park is open year round which means you can watch the sunset in the summer or watch leaves turn colors during the fall.    

Grab some fun in the sun at Lighthouse Point. Picturesque lighthouse sitting beautifully on the harbor entrance to Long Island Sound.  Enjoy a family picnic or BBQ overlooking the beach while the kids play in the water park or take a ride around the carousel.

Transportation

UNION STREET STATION/ TWEED AIRPORT

Hop on a train from Union Station for a quick ride to either New York City, Boston, Providence or any other major city in the area.  Free shuttles available to bring you back to your college campus and public transportation is always available at all times.  Within minutes, be on I-91, I-95, or Merritt Parkway, which makes traveling much easier!
